Our hope and prayer is see our city without homelessness.

Since 2010, we have opened our doors to welcome, love and support the homeless and vulnerable men and women of Brighton.

Through Safehaven we want to see lives changed, freedom found, hope restored and purpose renewed.

Saturday Safehaven

Each Saturday we welcome anyone who needs a safe place. We eat together, serving every guest a home cooked meal.

“Safehaven is a place to relax and to talk to people about issues I have and I am so grateful for that. I’m thankful for the love and support.”

Our aim is that we provide dignity, safety and community for each of our guests. After the meal there is an optional opportunity to engage with God in a relaxed setting through our evening service.

To get involved or to find out more please contact us.

Saturdays, 6.00 - 7.30PM

Safehaven Women

Our Drop-in offers a safe and relaxing space for vulnerable and homeless women in Brighton. Together we enjoy a home cooked meal, great conversations, and provide support and guidance from our all-female team. There are also opportunities to engage in arts & crafts and other activities. Our hope is that our guests leave having received unconditional, life transforming love – helping them to grow in confidence, hope and purpose.

“It makes you feel like a princess, like you’re worth someone’s time. People notice you and want to make you feel better when you’re hurting inside.”

We work with a range of partners across the city to provide holistic support for our guests. Says one partner, “The Drop-in makes it easy for the women to access our services in a relaxed, discreet way.”

To get involved (volunteering, fundraising or other) or for more information please contact us.

Thursdays, 1.30 - 3.30PM

Safehaven Mother & Baby

Through Safehaven Mother & Baby, vulnerable new mothers (and pregnant women) are offered practical support (through befrienders and hosting) and opportunities for skill development all within a supportive and nurturing community.

“Safehaven Mother and Baby has been very helpful and supportive to a single mum like me. I love the activities they offer which help to build my confidence as a mother.”

Safehaven Men

Every Wednesday during term time our doors are open to some of the most vulnerable men from across the city. We serve a home cooked lunch and enjoy spending time together; chatting, relaxing, reading and playing games.

Says one volunteer: “I love to volunteer at Safehaven Men because of the interesting life stories of the men, the chats, laughter and fellowship of volunteers and guests.”

For those who are interested in exploring faith, we love to support them in their journey too and there is an optional opportunity to worship and pray together.

Changed Lives

Jasmine’s Story

“When I walked through the doors of St Peter’s I was going through a huge battle. My mother had recently passed away. I had become homeless. I’d lost my job and I was sick with Auto Immune Disease. I felt broken. But through Safehaven Women I found a family and a place where I didn’t feel alone. The team constantly inspired me to keep going, to believe in myself and to do more to help my community. I truly believe Safehaven Women has been my salvation in all my dark days. Now I feel I have hope.”
