Summer Parenting Workshops

This popular series of workshops returns to St Peter’s Brighton once again in May. The evenings will equip parents and youth leaders/teachers with information and tools for positive conversations around hot topics of today’s youth culture. Each session will include presentations from a speaker and a chance for discussion in small groups. Drinks and desserts are included in your ticket.

When is it? 

Monday 13th, 20th May, 3rd June 7.15pm.


Who is it for?

The workshops are for any parent, step-parent, caregiver, youth leader or teacher of young people aged around 8 – 18yrs.


What is the cost?

£6 per session or £15 for all three. Drinks and desserts are included. Bursaries are available so please don't let the cost deter you from joining us.

Kids Matter

In June 2019 we are running the ‘Kids Matter’ parenting programme as part of our work alongside St Cuthman’s Whitehawk and Safehaven Mother and Baby.

‘Kids Matter’ is a 6-week parenting programme which empowers parents of children aged 0-10 to grow in confidence and skills to build strong relationships with their children. It offers parents practical tips and skills on how to make family life and parenting more successful and enjoyable in a warm, supportive environment. A light lunch will be provided and a crèche is available. Booking is essential.

Programme starts: Monday 3 June 11.00am-1.00pm

The Parenting Course

What is it?


The course was created by Nicky and Sila Lee who have worked with couples and families for over 20 years and speak regularly on parenting. They are co-authors of 'The Marriage Book' and “The Parenting Book” and also created The Marriage Course, The Marriage Preparation Course and The Parenting Teenagers Course. While the course is based on Christian principles, it is relevant and helpful for any parent with or without a Christian faith or church background.


Who is it for?


Parenting Children is a course for any parent, step parent or caregiver of children aged 0 - 10. 


What can I expect?


Each session starts begins with refreshments, a talk on DVD and time for discussion in small groups. Discovering we are not alone in the challenges we face and picking up ideas from other parents can make a huge difference! Topics include: 


Building strong foundations 
Love in action 
Setting boundaries 
Building character 
Our long term aim

Back by popular demand, St Peter’s will be showing this incredibly insightful documentary movie ‘Screenagers’ for the third time! This is an award-winning film that probes into the vulnerable corners of family life. It depicts messy struggles over social media, video games and includes insights from psychologists, scientists and academics. The film offers solutions on how we - adults and children - can navigate the digital world well together. Following the movie, there will be a chance to discuss thoughts in inter-generational groups about the content of the film. Hot dogs and cinema snacks will be available and are included in the price of your ticket.
The screening is open to all parents, teachers, youth leaders and youth aged (around)10+.
