Bishops and Apostle
by B. van Cleve
The ‘Bishops and Apostle’ window can be found in the side-hall of St. Peter’s church. According to a personal communication from accredited stained glass artist Clifford Durant, this five light window was created by Arthur Joseph Dix.

This window shows some coats of arms in the first light, Wilfrid, Bishop of York, in the second light, the Apostle Peter in the third light, Cedd, Bishop of London, in the fourth light, more coats of arms and the dedication in the fifth light. All three, Wilfrid, Peter, and Cedd, have a halo, rich clothing and a staff. Peter also holds a set of keys.

The dedicational text reads:
In grateful memory of
FRANCIS DORMER PIERCE,
Vicar of Brighton,
1917 – 1923
in whose heart it was
to build this Hall
