William Boxall

William Boxall D.L. (Deputy Lieutenant of the County of Sussex) was born in 1789. According to the Sussex Advertiser (19/04/1824) he took over the office of High Constable on Tuesday 20/04/1824, and on 08/05/1824 the foundation stone of St. Peter’s Church was laid in his presence.

On 04/08/1813 William Boxall married Lucy Ann Pierce. They had two children, William Percival and Edwin. William Boxall died in 1863.
William Percival Boxall (1814 – 1898), his son, married Caroline Money on 03/04/1845. One of their sons was Charles Gervaise Boxall (1851 – 1914), who commissioned the memorial column in St. Peter’s church to the memory of his grandfather.
