Be part of the story – help us restore our city’s iconic church building, Brighton’s ‘unofficial’ cathedral, to serve the community for another 200 years and more!
St Peter’s Church, Brighton – to some it is the building that has ‘always been there’, standing prominent and proud…others seek out its heritage and architectural features…some find a safe haven in the church, a place to find love and community.

Whatever St Peter’s means to you, it has been a significant and consistent part of Brighton community, sharing in the city’s story since its construction began 200 years ago. Now close to 1000 individuals from our city are welcomed weekly to worship services and a range of community activities for all ages, all backgrounds and all beliefs!
This May marked the start of our 200th YEAR ANNIVERSARY…
It is thanks to our community we are still here to celebrate! 15 years ago you rallied to keep the doors of St Peter’s open! Since then, much time, effort and funds have been invested in repairing and restoring our church building, helping not only preserve the bricks and mortar but also the stories and memories associated with the church.
NOW, after 10 years of being surrounded by scaffolding, we are reaching a point where enough work can be completed to the Tower to BRING THE SCAFFOLD DOWN.
But WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We are so thankful for the generous support of The National Lottery Heritage Fund and our other funders but more donations are needed to get the restoration work completed, including restoring the tower clock to working order, to the point where the scaffolding can be removed.

For a £40 donation you will recieve a jar of ‘Holy Honey’ from our resident Tower bees and a St Peter’s tea towel designed by local artist Hannah Turpin.
For a £50 donation you will recieve an A3 pop art print of St Peter’s by local artist Hannah Turpin.
For a £60 donation you will recieve local historian Paul Nicholl’s book, ‘A History of St Peter’s Church, Brighton’ and a framed A4 pencil drawing print of St Peter’s by local artist Philip Major.
