WHAT IS IT?

The Leadership Development Year is an internship programme from St Peter’s Brighton. It is an eleven month programme (September '18 - July '19) of leadership and theological training and church-based work placement. Each candidate is linked to a ministry stream for the year and the programme has tailored teaching and experiences throughout the year to help candidates grow in their different ministries.

WHAT'S THE VISION?

The vision of the Leadership Development Year is to develop you as a leader in the church, helping you to grow in your relationship with God; discover your calling and gifts; grow in knowledge and understanding of the Bible and Christian Theology; and be trained in effective leadership - whether in the church context or in the world.  

The year consists of three main elements:

1.    Leadership Development

2.    Theology and Biblical Studies

3.    Experience in an area of ministry

WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE?

Students will be in from Tuesday - Thursday. (This will leave Friday -Sunday for students to find part-time work). Course sessions include personal spirituality, self leadership, building teams, leading others and theology. The course sessions are led by Archie Coates, Jonny Gumbel and Paul Nelson featuring guest speakers. Guest speakers have included, Nicky & Pippa Gumbel, Mike Pilavachi, Sandy Millar, Amy Orr-Ewing, The Bishop of Chichester and Rebecca Stewart.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Our programme is aimed at young people exploring ministry, gaining experience in a role or wanting to serve the church for a year. If you are considering a Gap Year or are a recent Graduate please get in touch. 

1.   Gap Year: 18 - 20 year olds

2.   Graduate Age: 21 - 26 year olds

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

The cost for the course is £690. Bursaries are available.
