Leadership Development Year
Applications for LDY '17-18 are now open.
WHAT IS IT?
The Leadership Development Year is an internship programme from St Peter’s Brighton, in partnership with our church plants and partners (Whitehawk, Hastings, Portsmouth, Fiveways and Crawley). It is a eleven month programme (September '17 - July '18) of leadership and theological training and church-based work placement. Each candidate is linked to a ministry stream for the year, either Worship / Creativity, Evangelism or Social Transformation, with tailored teaching and experience throughout the year to help candidates grow in these areas. The year also includes a Weekend Away and two-week Mission Trip.
WHAT'S THE VISION?
The vision of the Leadership Development Year is to develop you as a leader in the church, helping you to grow in your relationship with God; discover your calling and gifts; grow in knowledge and understanding of the Bible and Christian Theology; and be trained in effective leadership - whether in the church context or in the world.
The year consists of three main elements:
1. Leadership Development
2. Theology and Biblical Studies
3. Experience in an area of ministry
ONE YEAR, THREE TRACKS
Within the Leadership Development Year there are three tracks available depending on your age and stage in life. Whilst the content and material is the same, each track will have separate Pastoral Groups and Pastoral Leaders for the year.
1. Gap Year: 18 - 20 year olds
2. Graduate Age: 21 - 26 year olds
3. Plus: 27 year olds and over
